He always insists that he will not be ordinary forever, but the people who understand him have not yet appeared. But his cynical demeanor is suspect. When Terry stumbled across a girlfriend on a Massachusetts bus, he moved to upstate New York, hoping to make more money there.
His older sister Sameerworks in the lending department of a small bank in the area. Sammy is the exact opposite of Terry's temperament, she is hardworking and pragmatic, and knows how to be kind to those around her. She is a single mother at the time with an 8-year-old son Rudy.
The brothers and sisters meet again after being separated for many years. There is no touching scene of the reunion of flesh and blood. Instead, there is a fierce dispute at home. After everything calmed down, the two resumed their respective lives. The difference is that in a city, they both began to feel the warmth of a family. The events that happened one after another also helped them get to know each other better, which eventually resolved their grievances.

our normal fuked-up life? ;The opening three scenes alone show how good the director is at telling stories, simple and precise; "The Other Woman"; "If you think about it, you can definitely think of other ways to get revenge on me, so can you think about it?"

You Can Count on Me quotes

  • Bob Steegerson: [picks up a phone call from Sammy] Bob Steegerson.

    Sammy: What are you wearing?

    Bob Steegerson: Mom?

  • Sammy: What is happening here?

Terry: It's just the problem is the pipes are corroded the whole length of the hall, so every time I put a new piece in it starts leaking further down.

Sammy: Why don't I just call the plumber?

Terry: Why? He's not gonna do anything different than what I'm doing.

Rudy: Yeah, we're only making it worse.

Terry: No we're not, shut up!

[Terry pulls a pipe out of the floor and accidentally sprays Sammy with water]

    Sammy: Thanks. Thank you.
