The movie Wolf Totem
is adapted from the book Wolf Totem written by Lu Jiamin. As a miracle in today’s publishing industry, "Wolf Totem" was published in 2004 and has been republished more than 150 times in China in the past 10 years. Nearly 5 million copies of the original copy were released, and about 16 million copies were pirated. Translations into 39 languages entered 110 countries. China Film Corporation bought the film adaptation copyright of "Wolf Totem" as early as 2006, but the adaptation was too difficult. It was difficult to restore the "man-wolf confrontation", "wolf-horse war", and "Wolf Totem" described in the original work with the Chinese film technology at that time. In the thrilling scenes such as "Flying Wolf", the first reaction of all domestic famous directors is "I like it very much, but I can't shoot it." In 2008, the French version of "Wolf Totem" was published. Before the novel was finished, Jean Jacques Annaud gave up going to Hollywood to direct ""Invited to take over the filming of "Wolf Totem". The film "Wolf Totem" project started in 2009 and has been in preparation for nearly four years. It took two full years to raise wolves alone.
