The film became the highest-invested movie released in 1999 at a cost of 150 million US dollars. The set of the train "Wanderer" in the film took a lot of effort. The art director Welch led the design team to study the private train at that time. It took two months to complete the set of the wanderer. The set designer Tom Duffield adopted Natural marble, edging glass, brass, Honduran mahogany, etc. create the "Rover" train in the film. The carriages are decorated with British handmade carpets, traditional furniture and curtains with a lot of hand-made tassels, and three carriages are towed. It is a real steam locomotive from the American Civil War. This steam locomotive that has been sleeping for more than 30 years has been displayed in the Baltimore B&O Railway Museum and can only be put into use after a complicated and tedious overhaul.
