"White Bird in a Blizzard", if you have not seen the original novel of the film, you would never have thought that this film still has Araki's iconic elements, homosexuality, and a bunch of actress-based movies, but I didn't expect it to be brought out in the end. The male homosexual element always makes the audience feel that although the theme of the whole movie is that the precocious girl grows up in adversity in a strange family, the main thing is that the adversity contains the homosexual element.
The film looks even less like a small independent film. On the one hand, the lineup is very strong. On the other hand, the whole story is a bit too normal. Compared with the young girl growing up movies such as "Juneo" and "Winter Bones", the film Shailene Woodley's role image is thinner. The director did not intend to give her more space to show the evolution of the character's mentality. There are only two states in the whole movie, being indifferent to family at home and curious about men. The state of the character is also the tone of the whole movie, cold and simple. There is no fancy content that is often used in independent small films. This movie really just wants to tell the audience a wonderful story that combines youth and thriller elements.

The goddess was only here to make soy sauce. After watching the movie, she was determined again to be prudent in marriage. Don't make do with the thought, otherwise it is either mental death or physical death. After mental death, physical death will end up in a white and clean...

White Bird in a Blizzard quotes

  • Kat Connor: [narrating] I was seventeen when my mother disappeared. Just as I was becoming nothing *but* my body - flesh and blood and raging hormones - she stepped out of hers and left it behind.

  • Kat Connor: [narrating] Dr. Thaler reminds me of an actress playing the therapist. And when we have a session, I feel like an actress playing myself.
