The film is an excellent indoor horror film that uses elements such as delayed suspense, blocked space, and claustrophobia to shape the tension and horror of the film. But apart from these, the most powerful weapon of the film is actually the face of Bette Davis, which was once so bright and smooth, but is now covered with wrinkles and sagging. Wearing thick white powder and jagged lipstick, Davis made herself (even in close-up shots) look disturbing, weird and scary, as if her wax figure in Madame Tussauds was in a heat wave Slowly melt in. But, really, this is Bette Davis himself. If she just wears a mask or a wig, or uses some special effects makeup that makes her look terrifying but beyond recognition, this movie will be a different look. But the most frightening thing about "What Ever Happened to BabyJane?" is that the audience will never forget that they are looking at Bette Davis. She is older than before, so people can't help it.
