"Welcome to Marwen" is a convoluted story beneath a sad and inspirational surface, and behind the gloss, tells a disturbing and intractable truth about human nature
.
Parts of "Welcome to Marwen" are hollow, and while the animated healing is commendable, the film isn't really infectious
.
The film is filled with empty sadness and boring animation as actual content, trying to arouse the emotional resonance of the audience through trite methods
.
The story of "Welcome to Marwen" does not adequately introduce the many characters, which greatly reduces the character development. The most eye-catching part of the movie is what the Barbie-like dolls see and hear in the virtual world constructed by miniature models, but many of the scenes are bloody. This part of the content also exists for the film to convey important social messages, and also achieves the film's unique artistic style.
"Welcome to Marwen" uses miniatures and dolls to talk about traumatic syndrome issues. It is sensitive and serious. Fortunately, it is equipped with a light-hearted original soundtrack, which stimulates the empathy of the audience. The soundtrack is simple and delicate, neither too heavy nor frivolous at all. The performances of the film's leading actors are remarkable. Steven John Carell accurately interprets the physical and mental struggle of the protagonist Mark in the real world, but the play is slightly thin
