In the not-too-distant year of 2033, six technology companies operate virtual reality hotels, and dying people can "upload" and enjoy future generations. Nora lives in Brooklyn, New York, and provides “angel” customer service to the world behind the luxurious “Horizen Lakeview” figure. Los Angeles’s turbulent but successful programmer Nathan suddenly suffered an auto-driving car accident. His injuries were on the verge of death. The rich second-generation girlfriend Ingrid persuaded him to upload permanently and enter the virtual reality world of Holi Zen where Nora worked. The drama unfolds from here.
