Mattie Ross' father was killed by a tramp named Tom Chaney, and it was actually her father who gave this tramp a job and a place to live. Sad Rose intends to find the prisoner and hang him. However, when she went to find Chaney, she found that he had been hiding in an Indian camp. Only the bailiff Ruben Cogben dared to arrest him. This drunk one-eyed bailiff is known far and wide, and is said to be one of the strongest bailiffs in the West. Rose paid him $100 for him to track Chaney. Soon they met Beff, a young man from Texas. It turned out that Chaney once killed a congressman in Texas. The Texas government and the congressman’s family offered him a reward for bringing Tom back to Texas. However, Rose hoped to hang Chaney in his hometown, and they soon diverged. However, the bailiff wanted to bring Beff. On the one hand, the family members of the councilor were rewarded with generous rewards. On the other hand, he wanted to kill all the bandits headed by Ned Pepper. The two negotiated not to bring Rose who was in the way, but the stubborn Rose followed them all the way. In a skirmish, they killed two people who responded to Piper and exchanged fire with Piper and Chaney. Later, Rose ran into Chaney, but instead of killing him, he was taken hostage. Bev then came to rescue Rose and captured Chaney. The two of them witnessed the decisive battle between the bailiff and Piper. The bailiff shot him to the ground with one enemy and four. After killing three people, his horse fell to the ground. Pressed underneath. Beff fired and rescued the bailiff, but was later stunned by Chaney who had escaped. In a critical juncture, Rose took the carbine and killed Chaney, but he fell into a deep well and was bitten by a poisonous snake. Finally the bailiff appeared and saved Rose.

I still like this version, the photography and composition alone are already very beautiful, and the dialogue is even more interesting. Although it's a bit too scenic, the feeling of sunshine is very refreshing~~ It's like swimming in the beautiful scenery of the western United States. . . The version of the Coen Brothers has changed the feel of the film quite a bit. It is dark, melancholy, and touching. Both versions are good.

This is a revenge story, but unexpectedly extremely relaxed and cheerful. The role of the little girl is to a large extent the source of happiness in the film, and it is somewhat anti-western. Cyclops with two spears to kill four tigers is really a powerful name, and the most exciting passage in the film is there. The soundtrack is great. I scanned the new version of the Coen brothers again, there are many similar passages, and the subtitles come on

True Grit quotes

  • Rooster Cogburn: They don't call him "Lucky" Ned Pepper for nothing.

Mattie Ross: That man gave his life for him and he didn't even look back.

Rooster Cogburn: Looking back is a bad habit.

  • Rooster Cogburn: Boots, I got Hayes and some youngster outside with Moon and Quincy. I want you to bury 'em for me. I'm in a hurry.

    Capt. Boots Finch: They're dead?

Rooster Cogburn: Well, I wouldn't want you to bury 'em if they wasn't.
