As the first fully computerized animation, depending on the complexity of the shots, the production time for each frame can range from 4 to 13 hours. The entire working system consists of 87 dual-CPU and 30 4CPU Sparc workstations, as well as a Sparc1000 server.
In order to perfectly reflect the movement of the toy soldiers, the animators glued sneakers to the wooden boards, and then walked with them to find the feeling.
The pizza planet in the film is inspired by Pizza Hut.
When Woody organizes a meeting, you can see some books behind him. The titles are Pixar's 1987 animated film "Dream of a Unicycle" and "Snowman Operation" in 1989. Other books in Andy's room are directly named after Pixar employees.
The original protagonist of the film was Tinny in 1988's Tin Iron Soldiers. It tells the story of him getting lost on a family trip and then searching for a way home with a doll performing ventriloquism. Later, Tinny's role was replaced by a toy astronaut, later Buzz Lightyear (it was called Lunar Larry at first). And the identity of that doll has also become a cowboy, who later became Hu Di.
The name of Andy in the film comes from Andries Andy Van Dam. He is a professor at Brown University and a pioneer in computer and animation art. Many of the filmmakers are his students.
When each character in the film blinks, they do not blink at the same time, but one at a time.
Andy’s mother’s license plate number is "A111" in the front and "A113" in the back. This is the room number where most Pixar staff make animations.
The film was originally rendered with an aspect ratio of 1.66:1, but due to some complicated reasons (such as poor viewing in the cinema), after careful consideration and negotiation with director John Lasseter, the display ratio was finally set at 16: 9 (1.78:1).
There are many titles of the film before it is finalized, one of which is "You Are A Toy" (You Are A Toy).
The date on the license plates of all cars in the film is November 1995, which is the month when the film was released.
When Buzz Lightyear discovered that he was a toy in "Toy Story", he opened the "computer" on his arm with MADE IN TAIWAN (made in Taiwan). It's about 46:40.
