The background of the story is Martini Island when France was occupied by the German Nazis in World War II. Humphrey Bogart plays the owner of a yacht specializing in sea fishing for tourists. As a result, the number of tourists on the ship has gradually decreased, the business has become sluggish, and many people still have their accounts. So, Humphrey Bogart and his alcoholic friend Eddie went to a hotel to collect the bill, where they met Bacall, a mysterious and sexy pickpocket, and Humphrey Bogart suddenly felt uneasy. After a series of events, Humphrey Bogart learned that Bacall turned out to be a member of the resistance movement who had escaped from the clutches of the Nazis. Bogart's lines throughout the film are imperative sentences. . . Bacall was only nineteen years old at the time, and both of them had thick voices, and they were both pose lovers, so they were a good match. But obviously Bogart's pose is better.
