In 1936, the Nazi army occupied the Rhineland without firing a single shot; in March 1938, they occupied Austria without firing a single shot; in 1939, they occupied the entire Československo without firing a single shot. Europe is on the eve of World War II, but the Bronski Theater in Poland has forgotten their situation and is still singing and dancing. When the actors felt the threat of war, Bronsky, the owner and star of the theater, only cared about his plays and business. And the proprietress, Anna, who is also the most dazzling female star in the city, is also busy dating his lover pilot Andre.
But the good times didn't last long. Soon, the troupe received a ban on performances because their performances contained anti-Hitler content. The pilot Andre also flew to the UK to continue the battle against the Nazis, but due to the negligence of the soldiers, a list with the names of their relatives and friends fell into the hands of the spy Professor Saransky. This secret letter that may destroy the Polish resistance movement is of great importance, and Andrei was ordered to return home to deal with the matter. But because Anna's name was on the list, the theater was also involved.
So a group of stage actors under the leadership of Bronsky and his wife Anna launched a unique struggle against the Nazis, and through their performances strongly supported the resistance movement. For his wife, Bronsky risked his life to pretend to be Colonel Ouhad and tricked the spy Professor Saransky into the Gestapo office (actually his theater), trying to induce him to hand over the list of Polish underground organizations. At first, the professor didn't distinguish the authenticity, and confusedly dedicated the list to "his German friend."
However, the unidentified professor talked about the "romantic affair" between Bronsky and the pilot. Bronsky was so jealous that he showed his feet. The professor suddenly realized it, but it was too late, and the actors executed the traitor. Although there are some loopholes in the matter, the actors still play their roles very hard. Even pretending to be Hitler fooled the local Nazis, in the end, everyone fled this hell on earth by plane.
