The film shares the pains of growing up and feelings of youth in a gray age
.
In "This Is England", director Shane Meadows explained his views on society with a group of bald gangsters "Cruel Youth Story"
. Skinheads, savage teenagers, Margaret Thatcher, these are the real history of Britain. Being a racist, being a street gangster is not cool at all. But the lifestyle of both righteous and evil in the film, as well as the life choices wandering on the edge of morality exuded in the film, are tasteful and cool
.
All the actors in the film are great, especially the young Thomas Turgoose who carried the film. His listless, exhausted eyes looked like someone had put an old man's head on a child's body. Shane Meadows' script and direction are almost flawless, the only exception is the end of the movie
.
Affectionate soundtrack, evocative pictures, and subtle emotional changes between love and hate, warmth and fear, all of which combine to make "This Is England" a complex and challenging story about the national conditions of the United Kingdom. Report
