Themis Negative review

The darkness of society and the sins of human nature fill most of the film, and the repressed and resentful road to destruction by middle school student Sumita is so dark that it is hard to breathe. But this suffocating darkness did not last to the end. The haze of the earthquake and tsunami made Sion Sono make a compromise. The film that could have been dark and thorough was finally reduced to a complete film because of the too bright and upward ending. A mediocre work. (

Some elements of Sion Sono’s signature style are indispensable in the film, such as the addition of pickpockets to a neo-Nazi ( played by) outside the main line, the random appearance of a woman with a chain wrapped around her legs and a nearly naked woman, and Chazawa. The gallows plot, etc., was customized for her, which broke the realism style of "ヒミズ", although the film rarely specifically stated that the time was set in May 2011 in Japan. The director's usual dark humor goes against the overall realism tone of the film, so some viewers may be quite critical of it. (
