Louiseis a waitress in a cafe. She is busy all day and wants to travel. Her good friend Selmahas been unhappy ever since she married Darryl, a car salesman . She stays at home all day, lonely and bored. One weekend, under Louise's repeated persuasion, she agreed to go on a pleasant trip with her.
They parked their car at a bar in Arkansas for the night. The bar was crowded with young customers. The drunk Harlan took a fancy to Selma and asked her to dance. Selma refused to listen to Louise's advice, danced with Harlan and drank, and was taken to the parking lot outside by Harlan. Harlan was so passionate that he moved her hands and feet. After being rejected, Harlan became violent and tried to force Selma to submit. Louise came to the parking lot and found that Selma was in critical condition. She took out the pistol that Selma had brought and placed it in her luggage, forcing Harlan to let Selma go. Harlan began to insult them by swearing, and in a rage, Louis shot and killed him. Suddenly, the two female companions took a holiday trip and embarked on a desperate journey that could not be turned back.
In the Grand Canyon of Colorado, Selma and Louise were determined to fight to the end and never succumbed. They smiled and clasped their hands.
