The X Files evaluation action

The success of the film is more dependent on the popularity accumulated by the TV version. In addition, the story of the film is also attractive enough, plus two attractive protagonists, it is the icing on the cake. The film's final Antarctic expedition is tense and suffocating. Audiences who are not familiar with "x-files" will not be disappointed, and "x-files" fans will be particularly satisfied with the film. Generally speaking, the film is a successful example of a film adapted from an American drama.
As a pure film, the content of the film is more or less thin and not very dramatic. As a story, it needs a sequel and a prequel, otherwise it will be difficult for audiences who are not familiar with this American drama to fully understand it. Like the TV version, the movie shows the audience horror, popular, and suspense elements, but the plot is somewhat clichéd.

It's still a bit slow...but it's better than the second movie, at least the protagonists are much younger

The X Files quotes

  • Ben Bronschweig, M.D.: [the Cigarette Smoking Man and Dr. Bronschweig climb down a ladder into the cave while wearing bio-haz-mats suits] We brought the atmosphere back down to freezing in order to control the development, which is like nothing we've ever seen.

Cigarette Smoking Man: Brought on by what?

Ben Bronschweig, M.D.: Heat, I think. The coincident invasion of a host, the fireman, in an environment that raised his body temperate above 98.6.

Cigarette Smoking Man: [they walk into an isolation chamber where one of the infected firemen is lying on a gurney, breathing heavily, his skin gelatinous, and hooked up to various I.V. drips] This man's still alive.

Ben Bronschweig, M.D.: Technically... and biologically. But he'll never recover.

Cigarette Smoking Man: How can this be?

Ben Bronschweig, M.D.: [he points to the alien embryo forming in the fireman's chest seen through the skin which is pulsating] The developing organism is using his life energy, digesting bone and tissue. We've just slowed the process.

    [pause]

Ben Bronschweig, M.D.: Do you want us to destroy this one too before it gestates?

Cigarette Smoking Man: Uh, no. No. We need to try our vaccine on it.

Ben Bronschweig, M.D.: And if it's unsuccessfull?

Cigarette Smoking Man: Burn it... like the others.

  • Special Agent Fox Mulder: [the alien spacecraft emerges from the ice and flies overheard] Scully, you gotta see this. Scully

Special Agent Dana Scully: [whispering] I saw it. I saw it, too.
