The director of the first film, Catherine Hardwick, failed to continue directing the second film. The second film was taken over by the director of "Golden Compass" Chris Weitz. What Chris Weitz said about the second movie : The first movie Ribera and Edward can only be regarded as having just met, the story between them has not yet unfolded. The internal grievances of vampires, the struggle with werewolves, and the various mentalities of normal humans towards vampires and werewolves will be shown in the second movie. Therefore, the director designed a lot of bridges in the movie and spliced them together organically to have a clearer understanding of the world view of the entire "Twilight" series. At the same time, director Chris Weitz made use of his keen senses and aesthetics to make the second scene even better than the first episode.

Sam Uley: [Paul begins to breathe deeply causing growls to escape his throat] Bella get back now. Get back.
[Paul suddenly begins to snarl like mad as he shape-shifts into his wolf form. Bella gasps as she sees this and begins to walk backwards]
