"The World of Truman" because of its bizarre design plot fascinated many audiences. With the passage of time, this movie that passed by Oscar has been talked about by more and more fans. In addition to the successful commercialization of the film’s storyline, the reason for this situation is also related to the strong symbolism that director Peter Weir injected into the film. The director compared Taoyuan Town to the Garden of Eden, or to the planet where humans live; the director Christopher in the movie can be regarded as the son of God, Christ. In a sense, the Truman before the age of thirty was almost created by Christopher, which is exactly the same as God’s creation of man. Later, Truman’s rebellion can be regarded as human rebellion against God  .
"Trumen's World" shows how an ordinary little person was made into a famous TV star without his knowledge, but was completely deprived of freedom, privacy and dignity, and became a victim of the mass entertainment industry. The film reflects the hopes and anxiety of mankind, and it also attracts attention because it touches the most sensitive social issues. It profoundly exposes the ugly behavior of Western commercial activities that seeks profit and tramples on human rights in a modernist artistic style, and it has a moral impact on the United States. The negative side of, human feelings and the state of the world was a powerful ridicule. The film strongly criticizes the value of "media omnipotence", and uses a virtual perfect world similar to "utopia" to imply the sorrow of survival in a "cage bird" style.
"The World of Trumen" is one of the classic representative works of black comedy. The film not only makes a powerful ridicule of morality, human sentiments and the world’s scorching climate, but the production structure and plot setting of the entire film also show the skill of the main creators. There are more than 5,000 cameras hidden in the small town where the protagonist Trumen lives. Trumen’s father, mother, friends, wives, lovers, friends, colleagues, classmates and even unrelated passers-by are all actors. Trumen lives completely. In a huge studio, it can be said that his world is a virtual space, but all of Truman's life is exposed to audiences around the world for 24 hours. This little man destined to be a big star was completely deprived of his freedom, privacy and dignity, and became a victim of the mass entertainment industry, but he did not know it himself. This kind of imagination is really amazing  .
Many of the roles in the film are powerful actors. It is worth mentioning that the male protagonist Kim Carrey. The combination of his comedic genius and this non-purely funny film can be described as stunning, especially His unique facial expressions and use of body language add to the film a lot  . This humorous, original and serious film is a transformation of Kim Carey's performance style. Kim Carey doesn't have too many exaggerated performances in the film. He portrays a lifelong maneuvered, fooled and even tragic little character very vividly. His performance was steady and solid, and he brought comedy to a very high level

The Truman Show quotes

  • [In the control room, Christof grabs a headset and a monitor to see Truman standing in front of the door to the real world]

    Christof: Truman.

[Truman hears Christof's booming voice coming from the sky]

Christof: You can speak. I can hear you.

    Truman Burbank: Who are you?

Christof: I am the creator... of a television show that gives hope and joy and inspiration to millions.

Truman Burbank: Then who am I?

    Christof: You're the star.

    Truman Burbank: Was nothing real?

Christof: *You* were real. That's what made you so good to watch.

[Truman turns back to face the door]

Christof: Listen to me, Truman. There's no more truth out there than there is in the world I created for you. The same lies. The same deceit. But in my world, you have nothing to fear. I know you better than you know yourself.

Truman Burbank: [insulted] You never had a camera in my head!

Christof: You're afraid. That's why you can't leave. It's okay, Truman. I understand. I have been watching you your whole life. I was watching when you were born. I was watching when you took your first step. I watched you on your first day of school.

    [chuckles]

Christof: The episode where you lost your first tooth.

    [smiles]

Christof: You can't leave, Truman. You belong here... with me.

    [Truman remains silent, contemplating]

Christof: Talk to me. Say something.

    [incredulous]

Christof: Well, say something, goddamn it! You're on television! You're live to the whole world!

[Truman turns back with a familiar smile]

Truman Burbank: In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening and good night.

    [false chuckle]

    Truman Burbank: Yeah.

[Truman takes a bow and then steps through the door to Christof's astonishment]

  • Lauren: [during her forbidden date with Truman, about the show's crew] We have so little time. They're gonna be here any minute.

    Truman: Who are?

Lauren: They don't want me talking to you.

    Truman: Then don't talk.

[They share a long, heartfelt kiss]
