The film is based on Judy Pascoe's novel "Our Father Who Art in The Tree" (Our Father Who Art in The Tree).
The whole film was shot in the small town of Buna, Queensland, Australia.
·Before filming, about 200 little girls came to the set to audition for the role of Simon. The crew also visited thousands of trees in Australia, and finally settled on one in Buna.
Buna has a huge fig tree. The branches of this tree hang down to the ground, and the fruit is readily available. This "body shape" is not common in fig trees. It is estimated that the tree should have been planted around 1880.
· The cost of the film is only 7.74 million euros.
·The film director Julie Portucelli entered the film industry as an assistant director. She used to be assistant to famous directors such as Kieslowski, Bertrand Tavernier, Ota Essoriani, Emmanuel Finch, etc.
