In 1942, the Guadalcanal Islands in the South Pacific were picturesque. American soldiers landed on the island, hoping to recover it from the Japanese invading army. The US and Japanese forces launched a large-scale battle on this small island. The arduous task of snatching the 210 positions controlled by the Japanese army fell on the "Charlie Infantry Company". For this reason, Captain Staro had a dispute with the commanding lieutenant colonel Tal. Tal believes that all soldiers should move forward bravely and show off their usual training skills, while Staro believes that, driven by Tal's ambition, the soldiers of the whole company will embark on a path of no return. However, Staro was finally dismissed from his post, and the soldiers still had to participate in the "just war" in which the country participated. In the bloody battle that lasted for several months, the infantry company experienced the baptism of blood and fire. Everything inevitably falls on them.

What is the fear before the war compared to the fear after the war? Humans' longing for power has long broken the conservation of nature. The most impressive is the butterfly flying next to the US army when it attacked the enemy, the close-up of the soldiers when the Japanese army was defeated, and the beautiful picture of coexisting with their lovers during the monologue. It's not easy to be a big-name star, and you have to fight with the director with a machine gun in a frenzy.

There is only a thin red line between sanity and madness. The soulful music and more beautiful scenery of the South Pacific in the first half of the film is nothing but an expression of great sympathy for those caught up in the brutal war in the second half. The red line is almost a kind of God's perspective. It is calm and compassionate to watch the torment and madness of both sides of the war and has a "concern without comment" tolerance. Its so-called reciprocal perspective and humanized description of Japanese soldiers Wait

The Thin Red Line quotes

  • Japanese Soldier: We know you're there, Yankee!

    Sergeant Keck: Tojo eats shit!

Japanese Soldier: No, Roosevelt eats shit!

  • Private Ash: I'm outta this war for good, Witt.
