"Genius Ripley" is adapted from the novel of the same name published by Patricia Highsmith in 1955. The book is the first in a series of Ripley's novels. After completing the award-winning classic business card "The British Patient", Anthony Minghella became interested in the novel "Genius Ripley". He believed that the story of an ordinary young man imposting a rich man would make a good movie.
The producers William Holberg and Tom Sternberg took up to 7 years to obtain the right to adapt and film the novel. Holberg said that after reading the original novel, he always wanted to put the novel story on the big screen because he replaced it. The whimsical ideas of other people's lives are really rare and excellent material.
Director Anthony Minghella saw the unreleased "Mind Catcher" and was touched by its starring Matt Damon. After face-to-face understanding, Tony Minghella believed that Matt Damon played Ripley The best candidate.

I was watching the film under JUDE LAW, but I just watched it now. I didn't expect this CAST to suit me. The story is also my favorite type. When I watched it, I thought of Match Point: People always need to cover up a lie with countless lies, and kill people. Silence is the last resort. . .

At that time, Matt Damon had a cute face, Jude Law was so handsome, Queen Cate Blanchett and the new Oscar actress Gwyneth Paltrow were willing to be green leaves, and the lineup was really strong. . Tom went from envy and jealousy to love and hatred for Dickie to replace him, and to Peter from using to touching and then killing him. His selfish and vain nature imprisoned him forever in a dirty basement without keys. Nothing.
