With the increase in the number of production crews for the "Monument of かぐや姫の物語", a temporary "7th studio" (第7スタッフ) was set up near Higashikoganei Station near Ghibli to facilitate creation.
This work has accumulated more than 5 billion yen in terms of production costs. The previous Japanese TV station chairman Shijia Ichiro was very fond of the animation " My Neighbors the Yamadas " directed by Takahata Isao ; he was willing to contribute funds to assist Takahata Isao in filming this new work, and He once said, "No matter how much money it costs, I will try to do it. Besides, I will treat this film as a souvenir at the time of my death." After that, Shijia Ichiro passed away in 2011 before the work was officially released, and the subsequent funding work was handed over to his successor, Okubo Yoshio.
Due to difficulties in production, the storytelling progress in the storytelling of "Hayahime no Monogatari" was only about 30 minutes in length five years after the project. Later, after another Ghibli director Hayao Miyazaki announced the official release of the animation "The Wind Rises" directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film producer Yoshiaki Nishimura had to try to increase the number of people responsible for drawing.
The first completed script of "Atsuki no Monogatari" lasted more than 210 minutes, and then it was cut to 137 minutes, but it still became the longest anime published since the creation of Studio Ghibli.
