The young couple Joannaand her husbandmoved from Manhattan to Stewart, where the wealthy live, but soon discovered that the neighbors’ wives were not like people. They were so perfect. As for the lack of emotion and personality, only her new friend Barbieis an exception. She is a crazy, bitter, and alcoholic wife who is obviously still human.
The two of them started investigating the truth about their neighbor's family, only to find that their husbands had colluded and replaced all of their wives with submissive and obedient copy robots. These wealthy men made an unwritten rule in the small town of Steiff, and they took robot wives as a custom there.
The investigation by Jenna and her neighbor Barbie unknowingly disrupted the original lives of the people in the town, and the robot wives also began to realize a little bit. In fact, what’s even more frightening is that these perfect robot wives are all made by real people. Husbands want to make their wives perfect, because they use high technology to turn them into robots and completely kill them. Human nature, in a sense, they are already dead. What's more frightening is that Jenna and Barbie were also spotted by the men in the town. There is no doubt that they must also become robots according to the rules.
