In 1958, The Kingdom of Belgium cartoonist Beyo (formerly known as Pierre Culliford) created The Smurfs in his own work. The Smurfs is popular with people all over the world, not only because they are cute, but also because they portray a way of life that people yearn for. They emphasized the importance of family and cooperation, caring for and taking care of each other, and the movie version came into being.
