The first stop of the jeans journey in the film is the Greek island of Santorini . Lena will go through bumps all the way to the residence of her grandparents on the cliff. From the point of view of filming, it is not easy to shoot on a steep mountainside, but this unique terrain cannot be found in Greece and the rest of the world. Few American film crews come to this magnificent volcanic island to shoot movies. This may be one of the reasons why the crew of "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" chose to shoot here.
At first, someone suggested to shoot in more popular places like the Republic of Malta , but the creative staff unanimously gave up this idea. In order to highlight the magnificence of Santorini and the romance experienced by Lena, the crew also decided to use traditional methods to present the local early years, that is, to create a simple and peaceful fishing village life with small boats and fishing nets.
There are 4 main locations for filming in the film, and the actresses focused in each location are different, so the organization of actors and transitions is very important. The film starts from Santorini, which is the furthest and most difficult, and then Mexico. Cabo San Lucas, and finally Canada. The crew used a total of 68 locations. Production designer Guy Buck recalled that the crew had to move around two or three locations almost every day, and at the same time, they had to be accurate for the multiple locations to be filmed
