In the 1950s, Paul Camp, a newspaper reporter who was drinking all day at The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico , was tired of the crazy and noisy New York City in the post-Eisenhower era, so he went to The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico worked for a broken tabloid newspaper, looking for new writing subjects. Paul quickly adapts to the nasty life on the island and meets the rich man Sanderson, a rich man who believes that everything can be measured by money. He shows Paul a completely different standard of living. After the two got acquainted, Paul discovered that this guy intended to use some shameful means to turn The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico into a capitalist paradise dedicated to the rich. Sanderson even decided to hire Paul to write a favorable report for them. In addition, Paul actually fell in love with Sanderson’s fiancée Chenault. This girl who is fascinated by men, has a free personality, and has a bold style deeply attracted Paul. She also tried her best to persuade Paul to run away together. People started a love triangle.
