"The Quiet American" accurately captured the political atmosphere and romance of the times, and structured the political situation into the love triangle story. The soothing rhythm complements the dim and damp picture, spreading out the betrayal and death induced by desire and conspiracy in the decadent atmosphere of Saigon. Although war is the background of the film, there is almost no such tense and turbulent atmosphere of war in the film. Instead, it appears lazy and dignified, and its restrained style is closer to European movies. Although some people regard it as a film with a bit of nostalgia and sentimentality, the political irony in the film is actually self-evident. The rivalry between the two male protagonists is more exciting, and for the Vietnamese girl who is at the center of desire in the film, she can only show the mysterious sentiment and oriental charm in the same way as most Western movies deal with such problems   .
