Thomas Jane’s excellent performance in "Professional Baseball Duo" left a deep impression on Hanslin. Hanslin believed that Jane’s performance was born out of nature and didn’t require any effort at all, even when it was quiet. He can still express a lot of emotion.
Thomas Jane has been an out-and-out comic book fan since childhood. Of course, "The Punisher" is also his love. Jane is very excited to play Castell. When Hanslin and Jane met for the first time, they decided to portray Custer as a taciturn person.
Hanslin invited Conrad W. Hall, who had been in charge of David Fincher's "Terror Space", to take the lead in this film. In the preparatory stage, Hanslin and Hall watched many action films, crime films and western films from 1960 to 1978 together, and borrowed a lot of classic film language from them.
