The film deliberately designed a lot of pictures of traveling and advancing in the clouds. The feeling of flying in the sky undoubtedly strengthens the audience's new experience. The sense of design and completion are good, and it has a completely different taste from Western-style magic movies. Some local adjustments have been made on the premise of maintaining the main line of the original work. The biggest change is the reconstruction of the relationship map of the characters in the havoc in the heavens and their motivations, which is obviously an adjustment made by borrowing from the setting of the Western fantasy theme world view. Some special effects are not perfect, and the level of visual scenes is not balanced.
The plot of "The Monkey King" is neat and tidy, with good and evil characters set completely in accordance with the structure of Hollywood type films. Its biggest innovation is the line of the Bull Demon King played by Aaron Kwok, which caters to popular magical themes and is raised to the confrontation between the two systems of the Demon Domain and the Heavenly Court. The adaptation of the film has a bottom line, it is not out of line, it is very decent, and the changed plots are all interpretations of the original story, such as why Sun Wukong made a big havoc in the heavenly palace, here is the use of the bull devil to Sun Wukong, and there is also the subtle affection between the nine-tailed fox and Sun Wukong.
The film is a subversive deconstruction of the story of "The Journey to the West". The core of all stories follows the original work. Almost all the bridges in the original work, the birth of the stone monkey, the learning of art in the fairy mountain, the chaos in the Dragon Palace, and the official worship of the horse. Wen, Yaochi stealing peach, stealing elixir, and hitting Nantianmen are all reflected in the film, which ensures the purity of the film's story.
