The Mist Creative background

The story material on which the film is based comes from the novella of the same name written by Stephen King in 1984. However, when the novel was put on the big screen and was challenged by contemporary politics, Stephen King had no intention of creating political controversy. He believes that the story told in "The Mist" comes from the Vietnam War and various conflicts in that special period, and the part that may be questioned is precisely an indispensable and important element of the film.
The film is the third collaboration between Stephen King and Frank Darabont after "Shawshank's Redemption" and "Green Mile". In 2004, Paramount got the right to adapt the film and reached a cooperation agreement with Frank Darabont, and then Frankt began to adapt the script. In 2006, the production of the film was transferred to Dimeng Pictures and it was finally confirmed that Frank Darabont was the director, with Thomas Jain as the starring role. In January 2007, the other cast members of the film were basically determined, and then filming was started, and the film was finished shortly afterwards.
Frank Darabont said that no matter what, monsters are just a decoration of a story. The ultimate core is human nature and the environment of human existence.

It is recommended for children who have been under great psychological stress in the stock market recently to watch this movie to release their down pressure. The actor was desperate in the end, but he at least had children and friends, but he still chose to "cut the meat" and fell before dawn, regretful. Many principles in the film are worth learning from in life.

Think about this movie, which also has some shadows of the myth of Cthulhu

The Mist quotes

  • Ollie: We have to tell them. The people in the market. We have to stop them from going outside.

David Drayton: They won't believe us.

    Ollie: They have to.

David Drayton: I'm not sure I believe it, and I was here. What we saw was impossible. You know that, don't you? What do we say? How do we... convince them? Ollie, what the hell were those tentacles even attached to?

  • Ollie: We gotta discuss how we're going to stop that thing from getting in here.

Myron: What do you mean getting in? We shut the loading door.

Ollie: Yeah, but the entire front of the store is plate glass.
