- Director Peter Jackson guest starred in a barbarian pirate who was shot to death by the elven prince. The barbarian pirates in the film also include: Richard Taylor, the boss of Weta Studio, Andrew Lesne, the director of photography, and the producer Rick Bolas.
- The first half-orc killed on the Plain of Perano after Aragorn disembarked was played by Henry, the son of Vigo Mortensen, the actor who played Aragorn.
- The archetype of the ferocious big spider corpse is a New Zealand spider, and the director himself Peter Jackson is very afraid of spiders. This may be the reason why he can shoot Shi Luo so terrifying.
- The last line in the movie-"I'm back." is also the last line of Tolkien's original novel.
- Frodo had a scene where the silk of the big spider was entangled like a mummy. Elijah Wood called the silk net "the largest condom in the world." He wore the net all day. Peter Jackson said: "I don't know how he solved the problem of going to the bathroom."
- There was no plot of Pippin singing in the original script, but the screenwriter Philippa Bowens discovered that Billy Boyd, who played Pippin, had a beautiful voice during a collective K song of the crew, so he temporarily added it to him. The drama and lyrics were also written by Boyd himself in two days.
- Ian McLean () suggested that the main actor's name appear with his portrait in the subtitles at the end of the film .
- The scene of seeing off Frodo at the dock is the hardest scene ever filmed by the four hobbits because they need to cry all the time. The four actors finally finished filming but had to be remade because Sean Austin, who played Sam, wore the wrong clothes. Peter Jackson, the pursuit of perfection, made them cry over and over again.
- The ending song "Into the West" was inspired by a New Zealand teenager suffering from cancer. In his last days, Peter Jackson took him to the set to watch the filming process. He also became friends with the actors. After his death, the screenwriter was inspired by him to write the lyrics.
- After the filming, the actors all got gifts: the iconic props of the characters they played, Liv Tyler got the dress that the fairy princess wore when she was dying, and Orlando Bloom got a handful of Legolas bow.

After watching the Lord of the Rings series, the only feeling is too good to be true, as good as fake. If only there is such a real courage in the rugged life: Destiny takes you on the road you don’t want to embark on, there are so many lost moments you are almost convinced that you will never return, even if you finally complete your mission, you will be on your body. Leave wounds that cannot be healed; when there is only the hardest way to go, you still choose to muster the courage to face it, and when you are tortured, you still choose not to give up. A destination that may never be reached. Thanks Tolkien, thank you PJ, let us see the most moving beauty in the world, even if it is fake. It still made me burst into tears about my cowardice.
