The story is adapted from the novel of the same name. The protagonist is the crew of the USS Arleigh Burke-class Destroyer guided-missile destroyer "Nathan James" (Nathan James, Hero of World War II). The BGM-109 cruise missile on this warship is equipped with a nuclear warhead. When a global "super plague" wiped out the vast majority of the population on the planet, this warship escaped because of its special location. The people on board have to face a new reality-they may be one of the few survivors in this world, and their position in this world is completely different from before.
