The Last King of Scotland Shooting process

The initial melancholy of the crew of "The Last Dictatorship" is that Uganda does not have any film institutions, and there is no way to get help. In addition, the production staff also have concerns about the local people's reaction. So it was originally scheduled to be filmed in South Africa, but director Kevin Macdonald and his crew were warmly welcomed by the locals during the field investigation. What was even more surprising was that they even met Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, and got his special authorization for filming. The crew got a letter from the president. So I finally decided to stay in Uganda for shooting. The filming of the film was done in the Uganda Congress, the tyrant Amin’s office and even in the car. The car was found in an old garage and the staff repaired it. The army and officials in Kampala provided a lot of help during the filming.
