The Last Face evaluation action

The film uses manual photography to create the tension of the battlefield, and Hans Zimmer's score is very unstable: the emotional part is good, but the part depicting Africa is abrupt. The film's perspective is compassionate and the object is suffering. It is simply a political propaganda film. Sean Justin Penn may also have problems casting, Charlize Theron has no drama in his eyes, and the struggling part of the character design is not conveyed. In the film, there is no director sculpting the complex human nature of the protagonists. All the characters are like sheets of paper cut into human shapes, which are thin and fragile and cannot stand scrutiny.
In some scenes, the camera swept across the refugee camp, as if the texture of the documentary was still somewhat attractive. However, as soon as the characters in the film speak, everything falls apart, and some lines leave the audience stunned. The film was an all-around failure, not only failing to make the battleground romance plausible, but also failing to make any other bright spots.
The film is a romantic film based on American values and set against the backdrop of wars in Africa. For 132 minutes, African refugees are used as a backdrop for a not-so-sophisticated love story. Sean Justin Penn wants to complete the thinking and reconstruction of his outlook on life under such a theme, but he regards the heavy life of others as the background for self-thinking, and he reveals that cheap compassion in his bones, which is annoying. African refugees have absolutely no possibility of speaking in this film, they are shown as dull faces, dull eyes, or corpses.

The Last Face quotes

  • Miguel Leon: Was your father away too much?

Wren: I think children spell love "T-I-M-E"

  • Wren: Miguel's attentions diminished my fears in this terrifying place. This place. At this time. Where children were fed mixtures of amphetamines and hallucinogens, convinced by commanders that by the eating of enemy hearts would they be made invisible in battle.
