The Imposter background creation

In 2009, director Bart saw the story about "The Imposter" Frederic Bourdain in a Spanish magazine, and was immediately attracted by the character's extraordinary experience. After Bart further checked the information to understand the details of Frederick's life, the embryonic form of a documentary film also took shape in his heart. In order to explore the true psychology of "The Imposter", Bart found Frederick, Nick's family, the police detective who investigated the case, and the U.S. Union Bureau of Investigation agents, and the psychologist who had done trauma treatment for "Nick" through the parties. The format of interviews and scene rehearsals restores the entire process of the incident. Initially, director Bart’s contact with Nick’s family seemed difficult, and they were reluctant to comment on the matter. After that, Bart worked a lot. He explained the intention of the film to the other party, and finally won the trust of Nick's family
