"The Great Ziegfeld", as the only song and dance film among the best Oscars of the 1930s, has epoch-making significance. The singing and dancing performances in the film are exquisite, magnificent, beautiful and spectacular. They are the perfect combination of Hollywood MGM film elements and New York Broadway stage plays. The actors also used their excellent acting skills to create different personalities, fully demonstrating the complex character traits of the characters  .
"The Great Ziegfeld" not only shows the life of Ziegfeld's legend, but also intersperses with the development and ups and downs of the Ziegfeld Sing and Dance Ensemble, as well as the trajectories of other singing and dancing troupes spanning 40 years. The two parts of the biographies of one person and the history of creation are closely inseparable, but both parts show a lot of details, making the three-hour movie inevitably fragmented, and sometimes even confusing the audience.  .

What's more, he has two wives who entrust his true feelings, a loyal partner, and an opponent (true love) who is constantly digging into the wall but never hesitated to lend him money (true love). This life is definitely worthwhile.

  • Eddie Cantor: [singing, in blackface] If you knew Susie, Like I know Susie, Oh, oh, oh what a girl, There's none so classy, As this fair lassie, Oh, oh, Holy Moses, what a chassis...
