The Grandmaster Preparation for shooting
2022-01-14 08:01
It took 10 years for the film to be prepared from 2001 to the official shooting.
Tony Leung Chiu Wai did his best to make "The Grandmaster". Tony Leung Chiu Wai was not a martial artist, unlike Donnie Yen , who had a kung fu background, he was like a blank sheet of paper, and he practiced hard with Yip Man’s closed disciple Liang Shaohong before he turned it on. Kungfu finally has a solid foundation for Wing Chun Kungfu, for which he even turned down many movies.
In order to play the role of Yip Man, a master of kung fu, he himself was "wounded" mentally and physically, and his arm was accidentally kicked off by a martial artist during the filming. The scene of the fierce battle in the rain shown in the leading poster was just a short scene, but Wong Kar-wai took a full month of filming.
In fact, not only Tony Leung Chiu Wai, but other leading actors in the film, as long as they involve kung fu, they also have a lot of training in the early stage, including Zhang Ziyi and 송혜교.
Zhang zhen also practiced Bajiquan for 3 years for this movie.
Although Zhao Benshan doesn't have many scenes in "The Grandmaster", Wong Kar-wai has to keep improving, and some good parts are often overturned. Zhao Benshan went to the crew 10 times and shot a scene.
When Wong Kar-wai went to Shenyang to cast for "The Grandmaster", Shen He was not on the cast list. Later, Zhao Benshan also took Shen He secretly into the group to create more learning opportunities for his apprentices.
