The Girl on the Train evaluation action

The beginning part of the film is slow, but Emily Blunt’s performance is so eye-catching that it can even make people ignore the existence of other characters. The original story is told from the perspectives of three women, Rachel, Anna, and Megan, but the film is based on Rachel’s perspective, causing other characters to be either too selfish or too flattering to make it difficult for the audience. There is enough sense of bringing in. Although a small part of the content is developed from Megan's perspective, it doesn't make the audience love her more, or even care if she is missing, the film is much weaker than the original novel. However, original music by Danny Elfman ("Fifty Shades of Grey"), photography by Charlotte Bruce Christensen ("Far from the Crowd") and performance by Emily Blunt are all worthwhile Praised. For fans of original novels, lowering their expectations is still worth seeing. For those viewers who have not read the original, the unexpected ending of the film will make people feel shocked.
The novel itself is only third-rate in terms of plot setting, character depiction, and even the placement of suspense points, and the adaptation of the film cannot be improved, so it finally becomes the actor's personal acting show. The film’s attraction is still from Emily Blunt’s star driving force.
"The Girl on the Train" may be regarded as a low-end version of "The Lost Lover", which is less suspenseful and ironic than the latter. Regardless of whether the two can be compared in terms of the original novel, "The Girl on the Train" can do better.
As a thriller, "The Girl on the Train" can only be regarded as so-so, but the psychological and erotic scenes of the film are enough to attract the attention of the audience. If you regard it as a 112-minute psychodrama of repentance and evil deeds, this kind of voyeuristic desire can still allow the audience to enter the situation.
As far as the role setting is concerned, the personality and plot lines of each character are attractive enough, but the final result presented is rather boring. Especially the two male characters are cold and irritable from beginning to end. Meghan is like a beautiful zombie and lifeless. Anna barely mentions anything except her own baby. Rachel is only drinking. There will be good performance in the future.
Compared with the horror masters Hitchcock and Del Palma, "The Girl on the Train" is far from it. The suspense and horror of the film are unremarkable, just like an article in a tabloid newspaper or a simple running account.
Explaining the transformation of people, switching between flashback shots and POV (first-person perspective) shots, is too complicated. Emily Blunt is no longer as smart and stylish as her previous role. She becomes grumble and tears at every turn. As a result, the normal color of her nose is almost invisible throughout the scene.
The only thing I'm interested in is how the narrative fragments of so many people are finally stitched together, but the characters themselves are too gloomy and sense of direction, and I am not curious about them at all.
The movie is too dull, like a wax museum version with no signs of life on the real horror theme.

When I was reading a novel, I felt that the popularity of the book was exaggerated, and after watching the movie, I became firmer in this idea. The suspenseful atmosphere and transition are like Lifetime movies. . The book doesn’t have enough acting skills to make up. The three major heroines from Emily to Justin performed well (if Leto and CE played Tom and Scott at the time, would they go straight to the street?) Another: Will Justin and Lisa call Rachel? Will play 233?

Why would a good story be so deliberately out of order?

The Girl on the Train quotes

  • Rachel: I need to remember.

  • Tom: Jesus Christ, Rachel, what the hell is wrong with you? I spent the last hour looking around for you. You scared the shit out of Anna, do you know that? She thought you were gonna... she wanted to call the police. So just... leave us alone. You can ruin your own life if you want to but you're not going to destroy ours. I'm not going to protect you any more.
