"Durak" uses a sharp perspective and satirizes Russian society with dangerous buildings. It has made a thorough reflection on human nature, has a strong spirit of judgment and reflection, especially a cold watch and scrutiny of Russian society. The film satirizes the hopeless society in the film with pungent film language, and puts the Russian society with an excessively wide gap between the rich and the poor into the lens. The birthday party shows the extravagant life of the wealthy upper class in society, vividly presenting the sick Russian society in contrast. Unlike other realist films, although the film shows the status quo of Russian society to a certain level, it metaphors the dangerous buildings of Russian society more surrealistically. At the same time, the film also carried out a thorough trial of the Russian government, showing the corruption within the government through mutual criticism and evasive responsibility from high-ranking government officials, allowing the audience to see an incompetent government with serious fiscal deficits, loss of functions, and lack of responsibilities.
