The Firm evaluation action

The film compresses a large amount of useful information from the original work into two and a half hours in the film. As a result, some useful details are also compressed out, resulting in the film without any real suspense.
Director Sidney Pollack tried to add some modern workplace-related elements to the film. The film is nowhere near as bad as the movie "Havana", Sidney Pollack did a good job, and so did Tom Cruise. For some audiences, the film is a thriller, but as a thriller, it is far from exciting.
The film may be more like a modern moral story than a thriller. The three screenwriters John Grisham, Robert Downey and David Rabe are still not perfect in narrative. Some plots of the film and the novel are quite different, but these changes have their undeniable significance and completeness. What is more successful than the suspense element is that the story has moral resonance.

    # Sugar Coated Trap# Oh, this movie is really long, but the story is very well told. I also saw that the supporting characters performed well, but I can't sleep because of the hot weather today, so I can watch the movie with patience, otherwise it may be delayed until tomorrow and may be abandoned. I want to say that the early stage is not interesting enough.

Although David Strathairn has few scenes, the moment he first appeared was simply amazing. Tom Cruise’s acting skills at the time were really anxious...

The Firm quotes

  • Avery Tolar: How'd you find that out?

Bill DeVasher: What do you think I am around here, a fucking night watchman?

Avery Tolar: I get confused sometimes.

    Bill DeVasher: Well, don't.

  • Ray McDeere: How'd you land a job like that with a brother in the slammer?

    [Mitch says nothing]

Ray McDeere: I get it. Don't worry, I'd probably have done the same thing.

Mitch McDeere: You're always there for me, Ray...

Ray McDeere: I'd have done the same thing. You think I want to tell the guys around here that I got a brother at Harvard?
