The story revolves around a huge dinner party. A couple entertaining friends at home. Just as the guests arrived, the cook and servant suddenly left. The hostess was furious, but luckily the dinner was a success. During the dinner, the guests said bad things to each other, and after the meal, the guests enjoyed the piano performance in the concert hall. But everyone found that they couldn't leave, not because they didn't want to leave, but because they didn't leave for some reason. After being trapped here for a few days, people searched for water and food in various ways. It has even been suggested that the master must be held responsible for this by giving his life.

Formally, it is inversely related to Buñuel's famous later "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie", an unfinished dinner and a room that cannot be left, but similar in content, the 'room' becomes a closed and conservative interior. The symbol, the end of the church forms a repetition: power politics and Christian culture bear the brunt of the tide. In a closed environment, people's high-sounding disguise in society is stripped away and only the original desire for survival is left.
