All the character modeling in the film is based on the original paintings created by Brian Ford. Brian Ford is a well-known British illustrator. His fairy world is quite magical and elegant. In 1978, he and Jim Hansen co-created "The World of the Dark Crystal" and made this book into a movie. In 1986, David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly performed "Labyrinth" (Labyrinth). The look of the fairy is also from his pen.
Both Jim Hansen and Frank Oz are highly regarded masters of puppets abroad. Jim Hansen’s Big Frog Schmidt is the world’s most famous puppet star, and Frank Oz participated in the "Imperial Counterattack" in 1980. "Master Yoda, who is controlled and dubbed, is the representative of the profound and wise Jedi Masters in the Star Wars series.
Although there are no dazzling sound and light effects and action scenes in the film, the manipulation and performance of the large puppets in the film is still very good 20 years later. In today's era of rampant CG animation, I want to see this type of animation again. Movies shouldn’t be easy anymore. Even Yoda in "Clone Attack" has been replaced by a CG character. Fortunately, there are DVD discs preserved from past films like "Magic Crystal", giving old fans a chance to relive these past. It has brought many fantasy movies of childhood dreams to the audience, but unfortunately because of copyright issues, the three districts did not release this movie.
