The plot of the film was jointly conceived by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton. At the same time, Dunstan will be the director for the first time. Initially, they only collected 10,000 US dollars of filming funds, but they decided to take the lead in filming "The Collector". In particular, Jerome Dillon, drummer of the "Nine Inch Nails" band was hired to set up the sound effects of the film. And investors give the crew pure freedom to make some brand new attempts. So the crew filmed a set of scenes in the opening part based on the original imagination, and then inserted some small designs in the final part, finally following the original idea to complete the production of the film.
In fact, the so-called "cutting" is just a proper and reasonable excuse for Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, they still retain a lot of crazy shots in "The Collector".
