In the contemporary society where individualism is rampant and self-interested, people’s moral bottom line drops again and again, and criminals ignore the dignity of life and madly challenge the social order. The film "The Chaser" portrays a vicious serial murder. From the perspective of ordinary people, it tells the tense story of a man who saved the victim at all costs in order to defend the dignity of his life. On both sides of the match, one was the murderer Chi Yingmin, who was the victim of the massage parlor girl, and the other was Yan Zhongmin, the former police officer who ran the massage parlor, who resigned because he couldn't understand the corrupt practices of the police station. Yan Zhongmin, who did not see the "justice" and "goodness" of this society, became the only one who could save Mei Zhen, who might be lucky.
