The Blind Side behind the scenes gags

1. Although the film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Michael Lewis, this film only selects one of the main lines of the novel to be adapted.
2. The original novel was published in 2006, and the director developed the plot of this story to 2009.
3. Rugby player Michael Och weighs 344 pounds, which is about 156 kilograms. His actor Quinton Aaron has a weight that complements the prototype: 380 pounds, which is about 172 kilograms.
4. In the 2009 NFL Draft, Michael Och was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the 23rd overall pick in the first round.
5. Auch’s college football coach played the role of coach in the film.
6. The film is adapted from the true story of Michael Och. In real life, Michael Och is a very good and outstanding rugby player. Michael Och is not too excited about adapting his story into a movie. He hopes that the movie can focus on the technical aspects and talk more about football.
7. In "Weaknesses", there are many real college football team coaches who have played their real-life identities in the film: including Phillip Fulmer, Lou Holtz, Houston Nutt, Ed Orgeron, Nick Saban, Tommy Tuberville.
8. When shooting rugby sports scenes, this film uses a large number of real famous players' various tactics and skills.
9. The incident in which Lawrence Taylor hit Joe occurred on November 18, 1985, during a football game on Monday night. It was a game between the Giants and the Redskins. This terrible injury was seen on national television. Taylor later recalled that he had never watched the video of this game, and he would never want to see it again.
10. When Casey Bates, who played Miss Su, introduced herself to the Tuao couple, she said she was a Democrat. Interestingly, in 1998 Mike Nichols's "Rising Storm", Libby Horton played by Casey Bates is an avid supporter of the Democratic presidential candidate, and the role of the candidate in the film alludes to It's Bill Clinton. Because of this role, Casey Bates also won an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress.
11. According to the setting in the photo, Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw are playing a couple in the southern United States. In fact, the family of the two is indeed somewhat similar to the role played. Sandra Bullock’s father is from Alabama, and she was born and raised in Virginia, and was a high school cheerleader. Tim McGraw was born and raised in Louisiana, where he went to college. His birth was a professional baseball player.
12. Although Lily Collins, who played Collins Tuor, played volleyball in the film and was also a high school cheerleader, the photo at the end of the film shows Lily Collins as Olemies in real life. In addition to the photos of cheerleading, Lily Collins in real life actually loves sports very much. She is a pole vault enthusiast.
13. Before Sandra Bullock decided to play Leigh Anne Tu'o, the first thing the crew considered for this candidate was Julia Roberts.
14. When Quinton Aaron auditioned for the role of Michael Auch, he was acting as a security guard for the concert. After the audition, he left his contact information and stated that he would play the role of Michael Auch as long as he would not disturb his concert security work.
15. Out of confidence in the quality of the film, multiple screenings of the film have been held. At the time of screening, the 35MM film of the film was sent to the outer shell of the cinema, and the title of the film was written "Wonderbar".
16. There are many scenes in this film that pay tribute to Michael Auch in real life. Including the first game in the film, several shots show the same as the real game; and in the film when Michael Och enters the stadium to start a football game, the Washington Redskins quarterback appears and The real game is exactly the same.

If it weren't for the super cute SJ, I'd probably only give two stars. The twists and turns of the plot are too right-angled, and the characters are very face-to-face. I still don't think Sandra's performance is a big breakthrough, it's really far from Mei Gu. Perhaps it made the judges more narcissistic because the film represented the true American dream. I was more moved by the actual photos at the end of the film than the movie itself. That happy and calm expression is not comparable to performance

The Blind Side quotes

  • Leigh Anne Touhy: [talking about the Tuohy's Christmas card photo with Michael in it]

Elaine: He looks so big compared to you like Jessica Lange right next to King Kong

    [amidst chuckles]

Beth: Hey, does Michael get the family discount at Taco Bell? 'Cause if he does Sean is gonna lose a few stores.

Leigh Anne Touhy: He's a good kid.

Elaine: Well, I say you make it official and just adopt him

    [laughs]

Leigh Anne Touhy: He's going to be eighteen in a few months it doesn't make much sense to legally adopt.

    [they all stare at her]

Sherry: Leigh Ann, is this some sort of white guilt thing?

Elaine: What would your Daddy say?

Leigh Anne Touhy: Um... before or after he turns around in his grave? Daddy's been gone five years Elaine. Make matters worse you were at the funeral, remember? You were wearing Chanel and that awful black hat? Look, here's the deal, I don't need y'all to approve my choices alright, but I do ask that you respect them. You have no idea what this boy has been through and if this becomes some running diatribe, I can find overpriced salad a lot closer to home.

Sherry: Leigh Ann, I'm so sorry, we didn't mean to...

    Elaine: No, we didn't really.

Beth: I think what you are doing is so great. Opening up your home to him... honey, you are changing that boy's life.

Leigh Anne Touhy: No, he's changing mine.

Elaine: [snidely] And that's great for you. But, seriously, Leigh Ann, aren't you worried for Collins? I mean, she's a beautiful white girl, and he's a big, black boy.

Leigh Anne Touhy: Shame on you.

    [gets up]

Leigh Anne Touhy: I'm getting this.

    [she leaves]

  • Leigh Anne Touhy: Well, alright then.
