Rich girl Milani is the daughter of a newspaper owner. One day, she and lawyer Mitch met in a bird shop in San Francisco. Mitch recognized the once savage Milani and teased her. Milani wasn't upset, instead, she wrote down Mitch's license plate and ordered the starling bird Mitch was looking for. The next day, Milani found Mitch’s place with Starlings, but learned that Mitch had gone to the beach home for the weekend. Wanting to play tricks on Mitch, Milani drove to the seaside town of Podga Bay. After learning that Mitch had a sister, Cathy, she wanted to retaliate and quietly left the starling at Mitch's house and gave it to Cathy. Mitch saw the birdcage and saw Milani being pecked by a seagull on the way home, so she left Milani at home for dinner. Milani met Mitch’s mother Lydia, sister Casey, and his ex-girlfriend Annie, and her relationship with Mitch was also developing smoothly. Just then, disaster happened.
First, a group of seagulls suddenly attacked Mitch’s sister’s birthday banquet, and then a group of sparrows flying in from the chimney turned Mitch’s house upside down. Early the next morning, Lydia found that a townsman had been killed by a flock of birds at home, his body was incomplete, and his eyes had been pecked off. After Milani took care of Lydia and fell asleep, she went to the school to pick Casey home, but found that the campus was densely packed with birds. The children were quickly evacuated home, and the crazy flock of birds attacked them on the road. After placing Cathy at Annie's house, Milani went to the town restaurant and told her father the news.
Soon, the gas station was attacked first, causing a terrible fire. The whole town was shrouded in the horror of being attacked by flocks of birds. In order to protect Cathy, Annie died tragically in front of the house. That night, the four people who could not leave were attacked by the birds again at their homes, and Mitch struggled to keep the house from being attacked by the birds. After a round of attacks, Milani went upstairs to check and was pecked by the intrusive birds. Mitch desperately rescued her. In the early morning, the family decided to venture out of the flock of birds to San Francisco. The four people tiptoed out of the house and successfully entered the car. Mitch drove the car slowly to the far side of the road.

Melanie Daniels: I loathe you. You have no manners. You're arrogant and conceited and... I wrote you a letter about it, in fact, but I tore it up.
Mitch Brenner: What did it say?
Melanie Daniels: None of your business.

Lydia Brenner: No, they're *not* fussy chickens.
