The Basketball Diaries evaluation action

The film lacks a certain degree of persuasiveness, and the preaching taste is a bit too deliberate. Without DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg, it would be even more ostentatious and unattractive.
"The Basketball Diaries" is very serious from filming to editing, but the overall quality of the film seems a bit clumsy. Although the film lacks style and vision, DiCaprio's performance is excellent.
The story of the film is not so novel, but the simple narrative style and profound themes are enough to impress viewers. The film shows the audience a difficult, tense, and painful picture, telling stories about drugs, growth and survival, and allowing the audience to blend into it. Leo's performance promoted the storyline very well.

It was only at the end of the credits that I realized that it was an adaptation of the true story of writer and musician Jim Carroll! 21-year-old Xiao Li's most innocent performance is breathtaking! And Mark Wahlberg looks a little anxious! In terms of the plot, compared with the growth and splurge of the previous large chapters, the reformation part in the back is a bit weak, which reminds people of "hard labor train", and the front part can also be compared with "Trainspotting" to see 3 and a half stars

I've never really liked movies about drugs. I really didn't like the little gangsters in my class who didn't do anything good every day in my school days. I used to see such people around me in junior high school. This kind of film can also be regarded as a negative educational film. Anyway, I watched these drug addicts, and I really couldn't stand it. I really liked the part of the four people playing ball in the rainy night and the part of diving together. Leo will be so young and thin.

The Basketball Diaries quotes

  • Jim Carroll: Time sure flies when you're young and jerking off.

  • Reggie Porter: Hey white boy! Are you ready for your beatin'?

Jim Carroll: Don't let your mouth get you into something your ass can't handle.
