In order to show the changes in the protagonist's dream, the director uses 3D technology to make the film present another kind of artistic conception. From the flames flickering in the hair of the magma girl, to the soaring peaks of the "Never Rest" mountain, to the Chocolate River in the Kingdom of Milk Biscuit, all were completed by Rodríguez Digital Studio in Austin. Sharkboy: [narrating] Sharkboy was not always half shark, half boy. He was a marine biologist, or at least in training. His father studied great white sharks and called his son "Sharkboy", because of how much he loved to care for the sharks.
