"Mandariinid" is an excellent film, cleverly conceived, but not dramatized, nor plain. According to the order of encounter, get along, climax, and farewell, it shows the director's skill in the succession and transformation. In the film, the process of the relationship between the two hostile soldiers from the initial physical confrontation to the state of reconciliation conforms to the viewer's yearning for beauty and becomes an important element of the film that makes people feel "good-looking". The director faced the tragic reality of the war film directly, and did not make the film into a pot of spiritual chicken soup to comfort himself. There is no preaching in the film, but because the four people have a superior attitude towards war, the film also captures some small but difficult evidence of estrangement in interpersonal relationships, trying to explain why war occurred. The regularity and meticulousness of the film means a lack of creativity, which is still a few ranks higher than those of the big and just war films.
