Virgil is a born stupid thief. Since he was a child, he has made many mistakes and been caught many times. When he is caught many times and made many mistakes, he will be caught even if it is not his mistake. When he grows up, Virgil is still a stupid thief, but at this time, crime is not as simple as being caught and stepping on glasses. He has become a regular visitor to prison. The film unfolds in the form of a celebrity biographical documentary, interviewing various people's views on the celebrity Virgil, and following the life of this "great man" in the criminal world.
Virgil's first big action-robbery of a cash transport truck, was as timid as a mouse but had to do so, and Virgil was arrested and imprisoned. The prison is exactly the same as the prison in the movies you often watch. The rooms, prisoners, roommates, police, warden, every character seems to have appeared in previous prison movies. Virgil used soap to make a fake gun in an attempt to escape from prison, as in the old movies. Of course, he was unsuccessful. Instead, he was sentenced to two years in prison. In the end, he volunteered to serve as a trial officer for a dangerous drug before he was released on parole.
After being released from prison, Virgil desperately wanted to be a good citizen of society, but the desire for crime has always haunted him. He planned to rob Louise's wallet, but soon this beautiful laundress fell in love with him posing as a painter. Two poor young people fell in love and naturally needed money, so Virgil went to rob a bank. He wrote a note and handed it to the counter lady, but the other party didn't know what he had written because of scribbled spelling errors. Everyone in the bank came to recognize the note, and Virgil went to jail again.
After a lucky misunderstanding, Virgil used his escape from prison, got married with Louise in another state, and found a proper job. The relationship between Virgil and Louis gradually appeared. A coquettish woman tempted him. He had to deal with the two women. In the end, Virgil tried to kill her, but he couldn't kill her anyway.
Louise became pregnant, adding to the financial burden, Virgil decided to commit another big robbery to support his family. In the bank, Virgil's inferior tactics quickly attracted the attention of the bank security. Virgil confided to them his life in crime and the difficulties he faced. Several security masters were so moved that they were so moved that they planned to help him with a big vote. Virgil took the brothers to rob the bank again, but encountered another group of gangsters who were also robbing. The two sides fought on the spot and went to jail again. This time he and six other people were tied to a chain, but Virgil managed to escape with them.
Virgil returned to Louise's side, but at this time he was already a famous person, he became a thief among thieves, a legend among gangsters. In prison, Virgil reviewed his life, and when the film ended, Virgil was carving soap again.
