The entire film cost 1.6 million euros. The landscaping work started in the maputo area of Maputo, to the north and the border with Malawi. There are tea gardens and mountains, one of which has become a taboo mountain in the imagination of director Miguel Gomez. Filming began in the fall of 2011 with the Lisbon part, and in the spring of 2012, the African part. While filming, the stripped-down crew was boarding at a Catholic mission station. What the crew lacked in searchlights, the crew made up for it by capturing sunlight through mirrors. Content shot on Super 8mm film is stored in the refrigerator pending shipment to the lab
